Field Status Alerts
Field Status Alerts from Madison Parks & Recreation are a good way to know whether the soccer field your game is scheduled for is open or closed. The Madison Parks & Recreation website will show you the field status for both Dublin and Palmer Parks. On the Madison Parks & Recreation Home page there is a link in the left menu to Field Status, or you can scroll to the bottom of the page to see the status. We recommend signing up to receive Field Status Alerts using the Notify Me service, the link is also on the Field Status page. You can choose to receive alerts via email and/or text messages. Receiving these alerts are important as you will know if your soccer match has been canceled due to inclement weather.
Madison City Parks & Recreation have just installed lightning detectors at both parks, and we expect an app to be available in due course. We update this page we find the details.
Additional Information
-
READ THE ALERT CAREFULLY!
-
If you receive a Closed alert for the field you are schedule to play, your game is most likely canceled.
-
If is possible that an alert can be sent saying one park is closed while the other remains open. Don't assume both parks are closed unless it is stated in the alert.
-
Since Palmer Park has both soccer and baseball fields, it is possible that an alert can be sent saying one type of park is closed, but not the other. Do not get confused! Madison Parks & Recreation will sometimes send an alert saying MBA is closed instead of using the words "baseball fields". MBA stands for Madison Baseball Association. It does not refer to the soccer fields.
-
If your field closes, your coach should contact you via email, text, or phone call to let you know if your game is canceled or not
-
If your field closes and you do not hear from your coach, please contact him/her to receive confirmation if your game is canceled.
