Please consider coaching and/or becoming a referee. We do not want to turn any players away because we do not have enough coaches. We will train and support you. It does not matter if you are brand new.

Uniforms

PURCHASING A PLAYER UNIFORM 

After you register your player, you will receive an email from Soccer.com within a week. If you don't see the email in your inbox, please check your spam folder. In this email will be a link. Click the link and it will take you to Soccer.com under your player's name. Please only use the link in the email to access the Soccer.com website. Once on the uniform page, it will show you the uniform that is required for playing soccer games (picture below). Your player's uniform will be shipped to the shipping address you entered. In addition, you will have the option to purchase other items and accessories from the fan page.

SCHOLARSHIP AND VIP PLAYERS NEEDING A UNIFORM

Parents with a scholarship and VIP receive and email from Soccer.com as mentioned above. In addition, you will also receive an email from the Regional Commissioner containing a gift code to use upon checkout when ordering your player's uniform. The gift code will waive the charge. Please do not click the link in the Soccer.com email until you have the gift code.

Spring Season Information

Season Information

• Spring Season starts in March and runs until the end of May
• Registration for each season starts 2-3 months before
  

Practice

• Practices are held Monday through Friday
• Coaches can pick the practice days and times when they receive their teams, based on field availability
• Practice locations are at Dublin or Palmer Park. CLICK HERE for field locations
• Practice Length:

  - "AYSO Playground" (4U) practice once a week. Trainings may be offered several times during
   the week
- 5U/6U practice 45 minutes to an hour once per week with start time between 5:00pm and 7:00pm
- 7U/8U practice 1 hours and 15 minutes once or twice per week with start times between 5:00pm and 7:00pm
- 10U-12U practice 1.5 hours twice a week with start times between 5:00pm and 8:00pm
- 15U/19U practice 1.5 hours twice a week with start times between 5:00pm and 8:00pm

Games

• Most games are played on Saturday at Dublin and Palmer Parks
• 13U-19U will "travel" locally (i.e. - Huntsville, Harvest, Monrovia, etc.) at least once throughout the season
• Games usually start 8:00am to 3:00pm
• Games are not rescheduled due to rain-out or lack of players
• Game Length:

  - 5U/6U games are 20 minutes - four 5 minute quarters
- 7U/8U games are 40 minutes - four 10 minute quarters
- 9U/10U games are 50 minutes - four 12.5 minute quarters
- 11U/12U games are 60 minutes - four 15 minute quarters
- 13U/14U games are 70 minutes - four 17.5 minute quarters 
- 15U/16U games are 80 minutes - two 40 minute halves
- 17U/18U/19U games are 90 minutes - two 45 minute halves

• Half time is usually 5-10 minutes
• 5U-12U games are played as four quarters with substitutions breaks between quarters.
• Players can start AYSO soccer at age 4 to age 18 for any of our soccer programs except Adult Soccer.  

Players Per Team

• 5U - 8U play short sided games of 4v4
• 9U/10U play short sided games of 7v7
• 11U/12U play short sided games of 9v9
• 13U-19U play full teams of 11v11

Uniforms

• Players get to keep their uniform from Fall to Spring season. It is possible that Region 498 will use the same uniform more then on soccer year
  
• All players must wear shin guards in order to play
• Shin guards must be worn inside the socks and cannot be exposed
• Only soccer cleats and tennis shoes can be worn
• Baseball or Football cleats cannot be worn

Soccer Ball Size

• 5U - 8U uses a Size 3 ball (23.0-25.0 inch circumference, 10-12 ounces)
• 9U - 12U uses a Size 4 ball (25.0-26.5 inch circumference, 12-14 ounces)
• 13U - 19U uses a Size 5 ball (26.5-28.0 inch circumference, 14-16 ounces)
